March 27 will be a historic day for the future of this planet and
for ZEV Electric vehicles in this country. You as a board will
have the opportunity to move the fight against global warming
forward and to help establish ZEVs as a viable from of
transportation or to cave in to the interests of the established
automobile industry.

Today as alternative automobile upstarts like Tesla, Fisker,
Zap,Phoenix etc. are preparing to market all electric or plug-in
hybrids we are on a verge of a major shift for the better in the
automotive industry. Not surprisingly the large established
manufacturers will only be brought into this new era kicking and
screaming and digging in their heals. Yet, with crude oil at
$112/barrel and gas prices projected to hit $4/Gallon we need
their help more than ever to free our country from our dependence
on oil and to save the planet from the accompanying pollution.

All of America is looking at you as the trend setters the will
take us into this new economy. You have a historic responsibility
and you will either be praised for years to come for your courage
and foresight or maligned for once again caving in and supporting
the old order.

It is my hope that you will walk the high road and make the
difficult but right choice to not only hold the automakers to
their promise of producing the full 25,000 ZEVs that they had
promised for 2012-2014, (a requirement that should be well within
their means by that time frame) but also create a separate
requirement for plug-in hybrids that lets them replace the
dirtiest vehicles in CARB's regulations, rather than the cleanest
ZEVs.

The choice is yours and God and history will be your judge.

Best regards,

Stefan Scholz
