I am a California resident with a strong science background,
including a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from Yale University, and
have followed with great interest the scientific literature and
recent developments in our understanding of climate change. There
is no doubt that human introduced factors are leading to an
unprecedented situation that demands changes in our emissions.

I strongly support the proposed vehicle and fuel policies to cut
vehicle pollution, guarantee consumer access to clean fuels, and
foster development of zero-emission technology. I urge you to
strengthen the requirement for battery, fuel cell, and plug-in
hybrid electric vehicles, to 1.8 million new vehicle sales in
California between 2018 and 2025, as proposed by the Union of
Concerned Scientists.
