To the California Air Resources Board:
No one in America (with the possible exception of the
corporations and the rich) needs a gimmick that allows polluters to
continue to pollute.
Please cancel the Rice Cultivation Projects Compliance Offset
Protocol and all existing and proposed Compliance Offset Protocols
under the Cap-and-Trade Regulation.
Offsets are a false solution to climate change and must be
excluded from California’s Global Warming Solutions Act AB32.
Native peoples around the world have seen through the gimmicks
and are opposed to such schemes as "cap and trade." Crops that are
vital to the cultural survival of so many peoples are being damaged
or are in danger of disappearing, because of gross manipulation of
life in all its forms. Such things as this rice project you have
before you must be cancelled.
