Comment:
LACSD offers the following comments on the discussion concerning Agriculture Strategies in the Draft Scoping Plan: 1. Page C-157: It may be overly optimistic to think that farmers may wish to operate combustion turbines. 2. Page C-158: Tank digesters are more feasible where there is a municipal sewage treatment plant nearby to handle the high-strength liquid waste. 3. Pages C-158, C-159: Research/Opportunities: We believe that biosolids applied to agricultural lands will result in net carbon sequestration and be a win-win situation for both farmers and the municipal wastewater community. This potential synergy should be mentioned in the Scoping Plan.
