Fighting global warming is extremely important to California's
future - and present.
California's leaders should be focused on the following issues:

A well-designed cap-and-trade program that puts absolute limits on
direct source pollution.

We also need to restrict indirect source pollution.  California's
local air districts should be made to require emission controls on
any new development projects, ensuring equivalent reductions occur
to lessen projects' direct impact.

Finally, we need to increase clean energy in our state.  There
should be a requirement that a percentage of all energy sold in
California be gerenated from renewable sources such as solar,
wind, biomass, geothermal, etc.  The target number for clean
energy should approach 1/3 of all energy sold.
