Posted: 07 Jun 2017 14:03:35
Today LCFS staff are releasing three Tier 2 pathways for biomethane to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and three Tier 2 pathways for biomethane to Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (L-CNG). These pathways were submitted by High Mountain Fuels for fuel produced at their facility in Livermore (California) and used in-state as a transportation fuel. This posting is open for a 10-day public comment period per requirements under the LCFS regulatory requirements. Summary of posted pathways and supporting documents are available at: https://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/fuelpathways/comments/tier2/tier2_comments.htm. The public comment period will end June 21, 2017 at 5:00 PM (PDT). Background on the LCFS The Low Carbon Fuel Standard is a regulation to reduce the carbon intensity of fuels sold in California. The LCFS is one of the measures adopted by the California Air Resources Board, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 38500-38599 (AB 32) to reduce greenhouse gases in California. It is designed to help clean the air, protect the environment, and drive the development of clean, low-carbon fuels to improve California's energy security and energy independence.
