arbcombo -- ARB Air Cleaner Regulation Approved

The California Office of Administrative Law (OAL) has approved the Air Resources Board’s regulation that limits ozone emissions from indoor air cleaning devices, and filed it with the Secretary of State on September 18, 2008. The regulation will become effective on October 18, 2008. The Final Regulation Order as approved by OAL can be found at http://www.arb.ca.gov/regact/2007/iacd07/iacd07.htm. The air cleaner certification application, along with instructions for completing it and information on approved testing laboratories, is available at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/aircleaners/aircleaners.htm. Manufacturers are encouraged to download the application and begin the testing and certification process now to assure that all models sold in California will meet the regulation requirements by October 18, 2010, the full compliance date.
