What's New List Serve Post Display

The California Climate Action Registry (CCAR) and the California
Air Resources Board (ARB) staff invite you to participate in a
CCAR workshop to discuss a draft update to the CCAR forest
protocol. 

The Air Resources Board adopted the CCAR forest protocols in
October 2007 as non-regulatory quantification methods for
purposes of voluntary greenhouse gas accounting.  The protocols
were the first accounting methodologies approved for use in ARB's
Climate Change Program. The Board also directed ARB staff to work
with CCAR to initiate a process to update the protocols in order
to encourage broader forest sector involvement and reduce
potential barriers to participation.  CCAR created a protocol
workgroup to develop updates to the forest protocols. The Forest
Protocol Workgroup has been meeting every three weeks for the
last year to meet those goals, and to further improve other
aspects of the protocol.  CCAR has produced a draft document that
it will present and discuss at the workshop.

CCAR welcomes all public participation and comments.  The
workshop will be held at the following time and location:

internet webcast with audio and video will be available beginning
at 8:30 a.m. on December 5, 2008 at

at: auditorium@calepa.ca.gov.  We recommend you download the
presentation prior to the workshop and follow the proceedings
with the audio-only option.
