reghaze -- Regional Haze Public Workshop - December 15, 2008

A public workshop will be held on December 15, 2008 to discuss the draft California Regional Haze Plan. The staff of the California Air Resources Board (ARB) invites you to participate in this workshop to discuss the draft California Regional Haze Plan (Plan). This statewide Plan proposes reasonable progress goals for reducing haze by 2018 as part of a long-range program to improve visibility nationwide. The Plan was prepared according to the Regional Haze Rule in furtherance of the federal Clean Air Act goal to achieve natural visibility conditions in 156 Class 1 Areas, the most treasured parks, wilderness areas, and land monuments throughout the United States. At the workshop, staff will review visibility at the 29 Class 1 Areas in California and discuss actions to reduce regional haze. ARB staff welcomes your feedback on the Plan. This public workshop will be webcast from the California EPA Headquarters Building in Sacramento, California, from 9:00 a.m. to noon (Pacific Time) on December 15, 2008.
