arbcombo -- GHG Reporting Tool Guidance, Webinars Available

Posted: 24 Mar 2009 18:37:38
The Air Resources Board has posted additional guidance documents
to assist mandatory reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Users of the GHG Reporting tool in the cement and electric power
sectors will find the following documents at:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/reporting/ghg-rep/ghg-tool.htm:

   • Step-by-Step GHG Reporting Tool Guidance for Cement Plants

   • Step-by-Step GHG Reporting Tool Guidance for Power
Entities
     (Retail Providers, Marketers, Asset Owning/Controlling
      Suppliers)

   • Step-by-Step GHG Reporting Tool Guidance for Electricity
     Generating and Cogeneration Facilities

A similar document for facilities in the oil-and-gas industry
will be posted later in the week.

These stepwise guides are also the basis for the sector-specific
Reporting Tool Webinars being offered this Thursday, Friday, and
Monday. There is still opportunity to join these webinars – sign
up by following the links on the web page above. Recordings of
the webinars will also be posted.

The ARB GHG Reporting Tool has been designed to meet the needs
of all GHG emissions reporters. These capabilities include
emissions data entry, emissions report tracking, report
certification, and report verification. Because the tool shares
its basic software platform with existing reporting and tracking
tools developed for U.S. EPA and The Climate Registry, it is also
designed to ease future transitions to potential regional or
national reporting programs. A Training Site with full
functionality is also available for new users seeking to gain
familiarity with the tool environment.

The deadline for all 2009 GHG emissions reports is June 1.
Questions may be directed to ghgreport@arb.ca.gov.
