Posted: 09 Jul 2009 13:42:31
The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) invites you to attend informational Mandatory Commercial Recycling Workshops held on Monday, July 20* (Northern California), and Thursday, August 6 (Southern California). The agenda and webinar information will be posted on the CIWMB Mandatory Commercial Recycling web page by July 10. As a part of implementing the Mandatory Commercial Recycling measure (RW-3) outlined in the Climate Change Scoping Plan for the California Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32), the CIWMB is hosting two informal workshops to solicit stakeholder feedback. These workshops offer an informal opportunity to talk with CIWMB staff about issues related to design and implementation of this Mandatory Commercial Recycling measure. Representatives from the CIWMB will provide background information regarding this effort, including related legislation, related projects, and the overall timeline. CIWMB staff will be soliciting stakeholder input on a range of issues and conceptual regulatory language related to topics such as thresholds, exemptions, implementation, enforcement and costs. These details will be described in a "white paper" that will be released and posted on the web next week.
