ARB staff is considering proposing an amendment to the CHE regulation to include a compliance extension for low-use equipment. A questionnaire for CHE owners/operators regarding low-use equipment is available at the following links: Microsoft Word version (for completing electronically and emailing): http://www.arb.ca.gov/ports/cargo/documents/lowusequestionnaire.doc Adobe Acrobat (PDF) version (for completing manually and faxing): http://www.arb.ca.gov/ports/cargo/documents/lowusequestionnaire.pdf Cargo handling equipment is used to transfer goods or perform maintenance and repair activities and includes equipment such as yard trucks (hostlers),rubber-tired gantry cranes, top handlers, side handlers, forklifts, and loaders, just to name a few. The Regulation for Mobile Cargo Handling Equipment at Ports and Intermodal Rail Yards was adopted in December 2006 as part of the Risk Reduction Plan to Reduce Particulate Matter Emissions from Diesel-Fueled Engines and Vehicles. We appreciate your input. If you have any questions, please contact Kirk Rosenkranz at (916) 327-7843 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
