Continuation of the Panel’s review of proposed acute, 8-hour, and chronic Reference Exposure Levels for caprolactam (April, 2011) The Panel will continue its review of the proposed reference exposure levels (RELs) for caprolactam. RELs are concentrations in air at or below which noncancer adverse health effects are not expected to occur, even in sensitive members of the general population. Once finalized and adopted by the Director of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), the summary will become part of Appendix D to the “Air Toxics Hot Spots Risk Assessment Guidelines Technical Support Document for the Derivation of Noncancer Reference Exposure Levels.” State law (Health and Safety Code section 44360 (b)(2)) requires that OEHHA develop these health risk assessment guidelines for the Air Toxics Hot Spots Program. http://www.oehha.ca.gov/air/chronic_rels/rel040111.html 2.
