ARB staff invites you to participate in a working group meeting via phone to discuss proposed revisions of the 2008 LESBP Guidelines. Topics of discussion will be: Incorporation of recently chaptered Assembly Bills 462 and 470 into the 2008 LESBP Guidelines; clarification of tracking and reporting requirements of earned interest; clarification of the cost-caps for school bus replacements, retrofits, natural gas tank replacements, and fueling dispensers; emission criteria for Calendar Year 2012 replacement contracts; and correction of School Bus Program Advisory 08-001. Background: Proposition 1B, which was approved by the voters in 2006, enacts the Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality, and Port Security Bond Act of 2006. This bond act authorizes $200 million for replacing and retrofitting school buses through the Lower-Emission School Bus Program. Funds shall be available upon appropriation by the Legislature for the Lower-Emission School Bus Program. The goal of the Lower-Emission School Bus Program is to provide cleaner, safer transportation for children in California.
