arbcombo -- Annual Reporting For Transit Agency Fleet Rule

Online reporting for agencies subject to the Fleet Rule for
Transit Agencies is now available. An annual report of a transit
agency’s urban buses and transit fleet vehicles as of January 1,
2012 is due to ARB no later than January 31, 2012.  The website

In February 2000, the Air Resources Board (ARB) established the
Fleet Rule for Transit Agencies to control emissions from urban
buses operated by transit agencies.  The rule requires transit
agencies to reduce both diesel particulate matter (PM) and oxides
of nitrogen (NOx) emitted by urban buses and transit fleet
vehicles.  The rule requires that transit fleet agencies meet
emission reduction requirements for both diesel PM and NOx, which
can be achieved through the use of alternative fuels and through
the application of Best Available Control Technology (BACT).
