arbcombo -- ARB Verifier Training Required by all current verifiers in March 2012

To maintain your ARB verifier accreditation, you must be
re-accredited by taking ARB verifier training in March 2012. You
will not be allowed to provide verification services in 2012
until you attend verifier training and pass the exam.

If you have already submitted your application, you will receive
information regarding training registration soon.
If you have not submitted an application, please do so as soon as
possible. Please submit a current resume including relevant
verification information, as well. If we need more information
than what you have initially provided, we will notify you.  

Here is the information we have already sent:

ARB will be conducting verifier accreditation training in March
2012 for currently accredited verifiers.   The training is
required if you intend to maintain your ARB-accreditation as a
greenhouse gas verifier in 2012 and
after.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding
training, or if you need more time to submit the application.


Course overview
Two identical training sessions are offered.  Each training
session contains one required training session, and three
optional sector training courses.  Course 1 is the general
verification training focusing on the changes to reporting and
verification in the revised Greenhouse Gas Mandatory Reporting
Rule.  This includes updates to electricity generation,
cogeneration and stationary fuel combustion.  Course 1 is
required for all verifiers that want to maintain their
accreditation.  Courses 2, 3, and 4 are optional.  

The training will be in a webinar format, so you will be able to
attend via your computer.  Course registration is free.  Exams
are free and are offered in Sacramento and Los Angeles the week
after the training session and must be attended in person. Please
let us know which session(s) you are able to attend.

Verifiers are encouraged to attend all 3 optional sector Specific
courses.  However, ARB will only accredit verifiers that have at
least two years of professional experience related to the sector
in which they are seeking accreditation (95132(b)(5)).

Application Form
To apply for either Session, please fill out the training
application and return it, plus any related documentation of
professional experience, to ghgverify@arb.ca.gov by January 10,
2012.  The application form is here:

your application has been prescreened, you will be sent
additional information regarding the training.  We encourage you
to study the revised Mandatory Reporting Regulation prior to the
training.  The regulation is located here: 
http://www.arb.ca.gov/regact/2010/ghg2010/mrrfro.pdf.  A clean
copy of the regulation will be provided soon.

ARB will also be providing accreditation training for
non-accredited (new) verifiers in Spring 2012, and we expect to
announce the dates soon.  Training for verifying offset projects
will also be held separately in Spring 2012.
