Thank You Dimitri Stanich ARB/PIO ____________________________________________________________ Release 07-29 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 2, 2007 Dimitri Stanich 916) 322-2990 www.arb.ca.gov Low Carbon Fuel Policy report release by University of California SACRAMENTO -The University of California released a blueprint today for the Air Resources Board to consider in implementing the low carbon fuel standard as part of its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent by 2020. The report, which is the second in a series, examines many of the policy issues involved in designing a low carbon fuel standard. "The study reinforces our view that a low carbon fuel standard will play a major role in reducing California's greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent by 2020," said ARB Chairman Mary Nichols. "The report's authors at UC's Berkeley and Davis have provided us with critical support as we move ahead on this early action measure." The Air Resources Board is a department of the California Environmental Protection Agency. ARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy.
