sb375 -- Informational Update on SCAG and SACOGís Draft Sustainable Communities Strategies Posted: 13 Mar 2012 10:19:52
The Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) will hear informational updates by staff on its review of the draft Sustainable Communities Strategies for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) regions. Staff will present an update to the Board on the SCAG and SACOG draft SCS. In April 2012, both the SCAG and SACOG Boards are scheduled to consider adoption of their draft SCSs as part of their regional transportation plans. Under SB 375, the Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act of 2008, ARB established regional passenger vehicle greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for the Stateís metropolitan planning organizations (MPO). ARB is required to review each MPOís SCS to accept or reject the MPOís determination that their SCS, if implemented, will meet the greenhouse gas targets. Staff will report on the results of its evaluation of the greenhouse gas quantification in the draft SCS.
