ghg-rep -- Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems - Release of Potential Revisions to the GHG Reporting Regulation – June 22 & 28 Technical Webinars

For Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems, the Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) staff has posted a discussion draft of potential revisions to Subarticle 5 of the Regulation for the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (title 17, California Code of Regulations, sections 95100- 95157) (Mandatory Reporting Regulation). In addition, ARB staff has posted a Draft Test Procedure entitled Determination of Methane, Carbon Dioxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds from Crude Oil and Natural Gas Separation and Storage Tank Systems to support the produced water emissions calculation. ARB staff will conduct a technical webinar on June 22th at 10am to discuss proposed Subarticle 5 changes and the Draft Test Procedure. At this webinar, ARB staff will discuss the changes to subarticle 5 and clarify the intent of the changes for interested parties. It is anticipated that any changes to the Mandatory Reporting Requirements regulation adopted in 2012 will apply to the collection of 2013 data beginning January 1, 2013. The Mandatory Reporting regulation is designed to collect greenhouse gas emissions using accurate and transparent methods from reporting entities around California to support multiple climate change initiatives at the Air Resources Board.
