arbcombo -- New Conditional Verification—Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes

Posted: 19 Nov 2012 13:27:24
The Air Resources Board (ARB) has conditionally verified the
RYPOS, Inc. active diesel particulate filter ActiveDPF/C3+TM for
certified Tier 3, 2, or 1, or pre-certification diesel engines
used in rubber tired gantry (RTG) crane applications operating on
CARB diesel fuel. The RYPOS ActiveDPF/C3+TM active diesel
particulate filter uses an active flow through filter followed by
a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to achieve at least an 85
percent reduction in particulate matter emissions qualifying it
for a Level 3 Plus verification. Level 3 Plus verification means
that the system will reduce diesel particulate matter (PM)
emissions by 85 percent or more and meets the January 2009 NO2
limit. Specific engine conditions for which the RYPOS
ActiveDPF/C3+TM has been approved may be found in the conditional
verification letter. The Rypos ActiveDPF/C3+™ is conditionally
verified for a period not to exceed one year from the date of
this letter.

This RTG conditional verification letter is available on our
website at the link below:

The Regulation for the Verification Procedure for In-Use
Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines was created
and adopted by our Board on May 16, 2002. The goal of the
Verification Procedure is to ensure that verified systems produce
emissions reductions consistent with the verification level and
that they are durable and compatible with various engines and
applications. Additional information on the regulation is
available at the following link:
