Posted: 08 Mar 2013 16:28:58
The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District will be hosting a community meeting to receive public input regarding the districts application to the Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program’s Notice of Funding Availability. Proposed application includes funding for on-road heavy duty diesel trucks (repower, replacement), locomotives (repower, replace, rebuild including retrofits) and rail yards (capture and control systems). Air District staff will go over the new incentive program guidelines and the application process. A conference phone line will be available to participate at 1-218-936-7979. When prompted, enter Access Code 445273. Come see how you can receive state money towards these projects! WHERE? Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD 777 12th St. 3rd Floor Sacramento, CA 95814 WHEN? March 11, 2013 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon QUESTIONS? Pat Robinson probinson@airquality.org 916-874-6276 Background: The Proposition 1B: Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program is a partnership between the State Air Resources Board (ARB) and local agencies (like air districts and ports) to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along California’s trade corridors. ARB provides funding to eligible agencies; those agencies then offer financial incentives to owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies.
