cc -- 2013 Update to AB 32 Scoping Plan: June 26 Regional Workshop in Diamond Bar Posted: 12 Jun 2013 08:57:51
The Air Resources Board (ARB), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), and Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) invite you to participate in a regional public workshop to discuss the 2013 Update to the AB 32 Scoping Plan (2013 Update). This workshop follows the June 13, 2013, Sacramento “kick-off meeting” for the 2013 Update and is intended to be a regional forum to solicit input for the 2013 Update. In July, other regional forums are being held in the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Joaquin Valley. DATE: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 TIME: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. LOCATION: South Coast Air Quality Management District Office Auditorium, 21865 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, California 91765 DIRECTIONS: http://www.aqmd.gov/map/dir2.html WEBCAST LINK: https://www.aqmd.gov/aqmd/webcast/webcast_calendar.htm Agenda and presentation materials will be posted prior to the workshop at the following location: http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/scopingplan/meetings/meetings.htm What is the 2013 Update to AB 32 Scoping Plan? As required by AB 32, the first Scoping Plan was adopted in 2008. This Plan must be updated every five years. The 2013 Update to the Scoping Plan will define ARB’s climate change priorities for the next five years and lay the groundwork to start the transition to achieve post-2020 goals. The 2013 Update will highlight California’s progress toward meeting the “near-term” 2020 GHG emission reduction goals defined in the original 2008 Scoping Plan. It will also evaluate how to align the State's “longer-term” GHG reduction strategies with other State policy priorities, such as for water, waste, natural resources, agriculture, clean energy, transportation and land use.
