arbcombo -- Draft Waste Management Sector Plan - Draft Procurement Technical Paper Now Available Posted: 21 Aug 2013 15:03:28
The draft technical paper “State Procurement Technical Paper” is now available and posted on the websites http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/Actions/PublicNoticeDetail.aspx?id=1025&aiid=935 and http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/waste/waste.htm This is the sixth of a series of draft technical papers prepared by CalRecycle and Air Resources Board (ARB) staff. The State Procurement Technical Paper identifies opportunities for and challenges to greater State leadership in waste and greenhouse gas reduction efforts through environmentally preferred purchasing. The other five draft technical papers (Recycling, Reuse, and Remanufacturing; Composting and Anaerobic Digestion; Biomass Conversion; Municipal Solid Waste Thermal Technologies; and Landfilling of Waste) were released June 14, 2013 and are available on the CalRecycle and ARB websites listed above. The State Procurement Technical Paper will be discussed at the upcoming public workshop, co-hosted by CalRecycle and ARB staff, to be held: September 17, 2013 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm CalEPA Headquarters, Byron Sher Auditorium Sacramento, California. Participation via webcast will be available. The purpose of the September 17th workshop is to discuss revisions to the technical papers and changes to the draft Waste Management Sector Plan. The Waste Management Sector Plan will serve as a road map for actions needed to achieve the 75% recycling goal of Assembly Bill (AB) 341 and inform the development of the AB 32 2013 Scoping Plan Update.
