ordiesel -- In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation Fleet Average Calculator for Large Fleets Updated Posted: 18 Mar 2014 13:34:57
The Fleet Average Calculator for large fleets and its accompanying user guide have been updated. The calculator now includes all compliance years out to January 1, 2023, and it has been updated with other new features to better aid large fleet owners in planning out their compliance strategies. Additionally, the user guide has been updated to reflect the changes to the calculator. The Fleet Average Calculator is an Excel spreadsheet designed to assist fleet owners in calculating their Fleet Average Index and Fleet Average Targets, based on the equipment model year and hp input. The calculator allows fleets to experiment with different turnover, repower, and retrofit strategies to plan for compliance with the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation. The fleet average calculator and its user guide are both available at http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/ordiesel/documents/documents.htm. The calculator may receive additional updates in the future. If you have any questions, comments, or other suggestions pertaining to the calculator, please contact Kyle Goff by phone at (916) 323-1414, or by email at email@example.com. Background The regulation for In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicles first became effective under California law on June 15, 2008. This regulation is intended to reduce harmful emissions from diesel powered construction and mining vehicles operating in California that have propulsion engines that are 25 hp or greater. Fleets were required to initially report their off-road diesel vehicles to ARB in 2009 via DOORS. In addition, fleet owners are currently subject to restrictions on unnecessary idling, and large fleets will be subject to accelerated replacement/repower requirements beginning July 1, 2014. If you have any questions regarding the regulatory requirements, please contact the DOORS hotline at (877) 59-DOORS (877-593-6677) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
