The California Air Resources Board is offering a full schedule of diesel and LSI vehicle and equipment regulations and retrofit training courses in May and June. These courses will help vehicle owners, operators, fleet managers, brokers, dealers, and maintenance personnel understand requirements and technologies to comply with California's diesel & LSI regulations. There is no charge for these courses. Course #504: In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation. Provides an overview of the Off-Road Regulation, including applicability, requirements currently in effect, future compliance requirements, and an overview of the Diesel Off-road Online Reporting System (DOORS). A brief discussion of the Portable Equipment Registration Program (PERP) is also included. Provides an overview of the LSI Fleet Regulation, including applicability,requirements currently in effect, compliance extensions, and enforcement activities. This comprehensive course discusses diesel particulate matter and health effects; diesel engine PM and NOx production and control strategies; DPF theory, types, regeneration, and application; and regulations associated with diesel emission control devices. Briefly discusses diesel emissions and health effects; diesel emission control technology; DPF construction and application; and maintenance necessary for successful DPF operation.
