WEBINAR June 24: EPA’s Air Quality Rules for Reciprocating
Internal Combustion Engines (RICE) and Their Application to
Combined Heat and Power (CHP).
Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) has issued air
quality regulations for reciprocating internal combustion engines
(RICE) that place requirements on manufacturers, owners and
operators of a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency
stationary engines including CHP systems that have a gas-fired
reciprocating engine as the prime mover. Depending on the engine
type, CHP system owners and operators may need to meet operating
and maintenance requirements, install controls, or conduct a
performance test.

The Combined Heat and Power Partnership is hosting an interactive
webinar that will include:
• An overview of the regulations
• A discussion of how the regulations apply to CHP systems
• A summary of compliance issues affecting CHP systems
• A step-by-step procedure for how to comply
• A live demonstration of EPA’s online compliance resources and
tools
• A question-and-answer period

Featured speakers will include:
• Melanie King, US EPA Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards

• Roy Crystal, US EPA Region I
• Susan Lancey, US EPA Region I
