arbcombo -- New Verification— Stationary Prime Generators

Posted: 20 Jun 2014 15:56:10
The Air Resources Board (ARB) has verified the Nett Technologies,
Inc., BlueMAXTM NOVA 300e active diesel particulate filter and
selective catalytic reduction system for certified Tier 3, 2, or
1 nonroad or stationary diesel engines meeting 0.2 grams per
brake horsepower hour (g/bhp-hr) diesel particulate matter (PM)
or less based on certification or in-use emissions testing (as
tested on an appropriate steady-state certification cycle
outlined in the ARB off-road regulations – similar to ISO 8178
D2) operating on CARB diesel fuel used in a stationary
application associated with prime generators. The BlueMAXTM
NOVA 300e uses a particulate filter to achieve at least an 85
percent reduction in PM emissions qualifying it for a Level 3
Plus verification and selective catalytic reduction to achieve at
least an 85 percent reduction in nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions
qualifying it for Mark 5 verification. Level 3 Plus verification
means that the system will reduce diesel PM emissions by 85
percent or more and meets the January 2009 nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
limit. Mark 5 verification means that the system will reduce NOx
emissions by 85 percent or more. Specific engine conditions for
which the BlueMAXTM NOVA 300e has been approved may be found in
the executive order.

The Regulation for the Verification Procedure for In-Use
Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines was created
and adopted by our Board on May 16, 2002. The goal of the
Verification Procedure is to ensure that verified systems produce
emissions reductions consistent with the verification level and
that they are durable and compatible with various engines and
applications. Additional information on the regulation is
available at the following link:
