Posted: 24 Oct 2014 16:33:35
California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff has posted four Low
Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) fuel pathway applications for
comment, and certified one staff developed pathway. The four new
applications are available for comment at
http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/2a2b/2a-2b-com.htm.

The newly certified pathway is available on the LCFS Method 2
pathway page:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/2a2b/2a-2b-apps.htm. It covers
biodiesel produced from corn oil extracted at corn ethanol plants
that produce wet distiller’s grains with solubles.

Pursuant to section 95486 (f)(3)(E) of the LCFS Regulation,
Method 2 fuel pathway applications are posted to this web page
for public comments for ten calendar days prior to final posting
on the LCFS Method 2 pathway page
(http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/2a2b/2a-2b-apps.htm). The
deadline for this comment period is at 5:00 p.m. on November 3,
2014.

The Low Carbon Fuel Standard, a regulation to reduce the carbon
intensity of fuels sold in California ten percent by 2020, is one
of the measures adopted by the California Air Resources Board,
pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 38500-38599 (AB 32)
to reduce greenhouse gases in California. It is designed to help
clean the air, protect the environment, and drive the development
of clean, low-carbon fuels.

California is in a drought emergency.
