omb -- Dryclean -- Demonstration Program Notice 2015-1: AB 998 Demonstration Program

Are you a dry cleaner that is using wet cleaning technology or are you considering implementing wet cleaning in your shop? If the answer is yes, you may be able to take advantage of ARB's demonstration program. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) announces the Demonstration Program Notice 2015-1: AB 998 Demonstration Program for the dry cleaning industry. In May 2015, ARB announced the revisions to the AB 998 Demonstration Program. The revisions to the program focus on ARB’s involvement in providing demonstration grant funds for those facilities who desire to become demonstration site facilities and who use approved wet cleaning and CO2 dry cleaning technologies. Specifically, ARB is providing demonstration grant funds to individual dry cleaners to become a demonstration site facility. ARB is hopeful that this additional financial incentive will help move forward the replacement of existing Perc technologies with approved non-toxic and non-smog forming alternatives. Demonstration Program Notice 2015-1: AB 998 Demonstration Program will provide further information regarding this newly revised program, including the demonstration site facility grant.
