ms-mailings -- Small Off-Road Engine Working Group Meeting SEPTEMBER 2, 2015
Posted: 18 Aug 2015 08:54:29
INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN A WORKING GROUP ON SMALL OFF-ROAD ENGINES. The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is forming a working group to discuss emissions mitigation opportunities related to small off-road engines (SORE). The first meeting will be via conference call at 11:00 AM PDT on September 2, 2015. Initially, the working group will discuss the results of the model year 2013 SORE evaporative emissions Validation Study and ARB’s and industry’s responses to those results. The working group will convene approximately every three months, or more frequently if needed, with the goal of improving SORE equipment emissions performance. Other issues related to SORE will be discussed as necessary. If you are interested in participating in the working group, or have additional questions, please contact Christopher Dilbeck via email at Christopher.Dilbeck@arb.ca.gov or at (916) 319-0106. Call-in details and a meeting agenda will be available on August 28, 2015, at ARB’s SORE webpage, which is accessible via the following link: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/offroad/sore/sore.htm. Background: California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2754.2, requires the SORE Validation Study in order to provide the Executive Officer with data to determine whether the performance-based and design-based certification options for SORE are achieving ARB’s overall emission reduction goals. Results from the model year 2013 SORE Validation Study and ongoing ARB emissions testing of SORE equipment indicate the opportunity exists for a collaborative effort between ARB and industry stakeholders to mitigate emissions from SORE. California is in a drought emergency. Visit www.SaveOurH2O.org for water conservation tips.
