sip -- Notice of Public Workshop for ARB‘s Mobile Source Strategy and State Implementation Plan (SIP) Measures
Posted: 25 Aug 2015 17:38:52
The California Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) staff invites you to participate in a workshop on Monday, September 14, 2015, regarding the Discussion Draft of ARB's Mobile Source Strategy and SIP Measures. At the workshop, staff will describe the overall mobile source strategy to meet federal air quality standards, achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets, reduce petroleum consumption, and minimize near source risk and exposure to toxic air contaminants. Staff will also present measure concepts to achieve the needed oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emission reductions from mobile sources by the attainment deadlines established by the Clean Air Act for meeting air quality standards. At the workshop, staff will also provide an overview of ARB's process for preparing the environmental analysis (EA) and its content. In addition to the public workshop, staff will also present the discussion draft of the mobile source strategy to the Board for discussion and feedback during the September 2015 Board meeting. Based on Board direction, ARB will work with the air districts to further develop the measure concepts into control measures for inclusion in the regional attainment demonstration in each air district’s SIP for meeting federal air quality standards due in 2016. The workshop will be held at the following date, time, and location: Date: Monday, September 14, 2015 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Location: Cal/EPA Headquarters Building Sierra Hearing Room 1001 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814 For more information on this workshop, see the detailed workshop notice at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/planning/sip/sip.htm If you require special accommodation or need this document in an alternate format or language, please contact Ms. Sara Cain at (916) 322-7305 or Sara.Cain@arb.ca.gov as soon as possible.
