The move to speed up the introduction of alternate driving days for cars with odd and even number registration plates was announced after pollution spiked in the French capital on Monday, just weeks before the city is due to host a crucial UN climate change summit. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/nov/03/paris-to-stop-traffic-when-air-pollution-spikes http://www.nytimes.com/video/multimedia/100000004014406/mon-dieu-pollution-alert-in-paris-ahead-of-climate-summit.html Delhi's air pollution is causing a health crisis. So, what can be done? For a few hours one morning two weeks ago, private cars were banned from driving into the heart of old Delhi. It was hard to tell at the messy road junction in front of the historic Red Fort and the shopping street of Chandni Chowk, though, which was still crammed with auto-rickshaws and buses barrelling along the roads with seemingly little regard for any traffic rules. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/nov/03/delhis-air-pollution-causing-health-crisis-so-what-can-be-done CLIMATE CHANGE As scientists worry about warming world, US public doesn't Most Americans know the climate is changing, but they say they are just not that worried about it, according to a new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_SCI_CLIMATE_COUNTDOWN_THE_AMERICANS?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/11/03/science/ap-us-sci-climate-countdown-the-americans.html http://www.latimes.com/nation/ct-climate-change-global-warming-poll-20151103-story.html UN food security expert warns about impact of climate change A U.N. expert is warning that more extreme weather, higher temperatures, floods, droughts and rising sea levels linked to climate change are threatening people's access to food over the long term. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/E/EU_UNITED_NATIONS_CLIMATE_CHANGE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/11/03/world/europe/ap-eu-united-nations-climate-change.html?_r=0 https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/un-food-security-expert-warns-about-impact-of-climate-change/2015/11/03/efd2d824-8231-11e5-8bd2-680fff868306_story.html California Gov.
