The Action Plan will include specific recommendations, actions, investments, and milestones agencies can consider developing and build a sustainable freight transportation system that will demonstrate California’s private and public leadership in advancing statewide and national freight priorities, objectives, and goals, and accomplishing statewide goals, such as the targets identified in the Executive Order. The State will establish clear targets for improving freight efficiency and transitioning to zero-emission technologies in the freight transport system, while continuing to support California’s economy. The Action Plan will identify State policies, programs, and investments that can achieve those targets. The State will also initiate work on identifying corridor level freight pilot projects within the State’s primary trade corridors that achieve the targets set by the Executive Order by integrating advanced technologies, alternative fuels, freight and fuel infrastructure, and local economic development opportunities.
