arbcombo -- Manufacturers Warranty Report Template and Data Definition Updates
Posted: 11 Mar 2016 16:58:13
The Air Resources Board has updated the Manufacturers Warranty Report template and the Manufacturers Warranty Report Data Definitions. The updates include changes to the template and consist solely of additions of new diesel emission control strategy (DECS) product and family names and Executive Order numbers in drop-down menus, data input constraint changes, and data field alignments for data integrity and accuracy improvement. Effective immediately, manufacturers must use the new template to submit their warranty reports according to the instructions. For the updated Manufacturers Warranty Report Template and Field Definitions along with the Submittal Instructions, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/vr/warranty.htm For more information of the mail-out, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/mailouts/mouts_16.htm For more information about the Verification Program, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/verdev.htm If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Doh-Won Lee, Air Resources Engineer, at (626) 350-6543 or by email at doh-won.lee@arb.ca.gov. Background: The Verification Procedure, Warranty, and In-Use Compliance Requirements for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines, Title 13, California Code of Regulations, Sections 2700 through 2711 (Verification Procedure) is used to evaluate DECS to determine if they obtain real and durable reductions of particulate matter and/or oxides of nitrogen thereby allowing them to be used as fleet rule compliance options. The Verification Procedure requires DECS manufacturers to provide yearly warranty reports or whenever the valid warranty claims rate exceeds four percent (whichever occurs first). Changes to these requirements became effective on October 1, 2013. California is in a drought emergency. Visit www.SaveOurH2O.org for water conservation tips.
