arbcombo -- Now available - Aliso Canyon Mitigation Program
Posted: 01 Apr 2016 16:21:31
ARB has released the mitigation program for the Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility. Pursuant to Governor Brown’s proclamation of January 6, 2016, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) has developed a program to mitigate the climate impacts of the approximately 100,000 tons of methane emitted from Southern California Gas Company’s Aliso Canyon underground natural gas storage facility in Los Angeles County from October 2015 through February 2016. This program was developed through a public process that included the posting of a draft version of the program on ARB’s website last month, and ARB’s review of comments received on the draft. The program, as transmitted to the Governor on April 1, 2016, is available on the ARB website at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/aliso_canyon/arb_aliso_canyon_methane_leak_climate_impacts_mitigation_program.pdf. Background information and current monitoring activities can be viewed on our website at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/aliso_canyon_natural_gas_leak.htm. California is in a drought emergency.
