compwood -- Release of Staff Working Draft of Modified Compwood ATCM Posted: 21 Dec 2007 17:07:25
On April 26, 2007, the Air Resources Board (ARB) approved a new airborne toxic control measure (ATCM) which limits formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, including hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium density fiberboard. At the April 26 meeting, ARB approved several draft modifications to the ATCM. Since then, staff has worked with stakeholders to revise the draft modifications and is now making available a staff working draft of the modified composite wood ATCM. You may view the staff working draft by clicking the following link http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/compwood/workingdraft.pdf or by visiting our composite wood products web site at www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/compwood/compwood.htm. Modifications are shown through strikeout and underline format; however, the regulatory format is currently being revised for the modified ATCM. Please send any initial comments by January 2 to Lynn Baker at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Mr. Baker with any questions at (916) 324-6997. We will review your initial comments and make any necessary revisions. We anticipate re-opening the public record with the release of the modified ATCM for a 15-day public comment period in mid-January. Another list serve message will be sent out in mid-January to inform you of the start of the 15-day comment period. From the CARB staff, Happy Holidays!
