This section may also state that vehicle "conforms to U.S. EPA regulations and is certified for sale in California", which will indicate that the vehicle is also available for sale new outside of California.
7. On Board Diagnostics (OBD II) information.
Cars certified with this system will illuminate a dashboard "CheckEngine" light when vehicle emissions exceed standards by 50%. These emissions can be caused by wear, malfunction, or defect. Your mechanic can use the OBD II system to help diagnose and repair your car.
