Advanced Clean Cars fuel cost savings chart

Consumer savings

Many of the Advanced Clean Cars technologies that reduce global warming emissions also save consumers a significant of money at the gas pump and electrical charging station. Fuel savings will average 4 percent for 2017 models and more than 25 percent for 2025 cars as shown in chart below.

Financing

Consumers could nearly double their return on investment in Advanced Clean Car technologies by 2025, when the regulations are fully implemented (Table 1). For used car buyers, the return on investment could be nearly triple over the life of the car (Table 2).

Financial incentives

State rebates of up to $2,500 are available for buying or leasing a Zero Emission Vehicle, such as a fully electric vehicle.On top of a state rebate, consumers could qualify for a Federal tax deduction of up to $7,500
