Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) Program - 1995-1996 Documents

At its November 1998 meeting, the Air Resources Board (ARB) amended California's Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) regulations. The new amendments, known as LEV II, will advance the state's clean air goals through improved emission reduction standards for automobiles.
Below are the California low-emission vehicle regulations that were approved by the California Office of Administrative Law on September 23, 1996 that formally went into effect October 23, 1996. Minor editorial corrections were made to the Final Regulation Order on September 20, 1996, and the WordPerfect file identified below reflects the corrections on those pages identified in the footers. Clarifying corrections have also been made to the California Motor Vehicle Emission Control and Smog Index Label Specifications; the updated version in the WordPerfect file listed below similarly reflects the corrections on those pages identified in the footers. Finally, the table of contents in the Assembly-Line Test Procedures for the 1983-1997 model years has been corrected.
