Background
By the end of September 2009 all drayage trucks must have been registered in the Statewide Drayage Truck Registry (DTR). Starting October 2009, non-registered drayage trucks accessing port or intermodal rail yards are subject to enforcement penalties. On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, the Office of Administrative Law approved amendments to the Drayage Truck Regulation. These amendments became effective Immediately. The amendments changed requirements for class 7 trucks and expanded the definition of a drayage truck within California.
The DTR is administered by the California Air Resources Board and will be used to verify the compliance status of a drayage truck with the requirements of California's Drayage Truck Regulation (California Code of Regulations, Title 13, Section 2027). The DTR will allow interested parties (including motor carriers and the general public) to check a truck's compliance status by simply entering a vehicles license plate number and state of issuance through this website using the check truck status button at the top of this page.
