Clean Vehicles in California

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is committed to making sure
California drivers have a variety of clean and affordable vehicle options. In recent years, manufacturers
have offered several electric vehicle models to satisfy their requirements under the ARB's Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) regulation.
However, with technological developments in fuel cells revealing such a promising ZEV technology, many manufacturers
are now choosing to meet their requirements by preparing fuel cells for commercialization.
In the near-term, significant advancements have been made in vehicle technologies currently offered to consumers,
providing a multitude of options for car buyers wanting cleaner, more efficient vehicles. Low speed battery electric
vehicles, hybrid electric, alternative fuel, and internal combustion engine vehicles with substantially reduced
emissions all have an immediate positive environmental impact, and can be purchased easily by consumers at affordable
prices today.
