Air Board to Hear Proposed Amendments to the Zero-Emission Vehicle Rules
Thursday, January 25
9:00 a.m.
Board Hearing Room, Lower Level
2020 L Street
Sacramento, California
At its September 2000 meeting, the Board affirmed the importance of the ZEV program as a vital part of California's air quality strategy. The Board also directed staff to develop changes to the rule that would best assure development of a sustainable market for ZEVs.
The ZEV program, adopted in 1990, required 10 percent of new automobiles sold in California to be zero emitting in 2003.
The Air Resources Board is a department of the California Environmental Protection Agency. ARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy.
