ARB Settles Air Quality Violations for the Winter
SACRAMENTO -- The California Air Resources Board (ARB) today announced three settlements have been reached concerning alleged violations of California?s air quality regulations. The specifics of the cases are as follows:
COMPANY: Allsup?s Service Station, 1703 Main Street, Riverside,
CA.
VIOLATION: Selling, offering for sale, or supplying gasoline
exceeding the state Reid Vapor
Pressure (RVP) standard of 7.00 pounds per square inch.
WHEN: April 8, 1999
SETTLEMENT: $750
COMPANY: ARCO Products Company, Carson, CA.
VIOLATION: Selling, offering for sale, or supplying gasoline
with a sulfur content higher than the value reported by the refinery.
WHEN: March 7, 1999
SETTLEMENT: $6,000
COMPANY: Medo Industries, Inc., Tarrytown, NY.
VIOLATION: Selling, offering for sale, or supplying liquid
air freshener that exceeded the applicable VOC standard for liquid/pump
air freshener products in California.
WHEN: April 6, 1998 and December 16, 1998
SETTLEMENT: $8,000

ARB?s mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. The ARB oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health based air quality standards.
