SACRAMENTO -- The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed changes to prescribed fire regulations at the following:
April 29 — 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
County Government Center
Supervisors Chambers
1050 Monterey Street
San Luis Obispo
The public is invited to
attend and give comments on proposed changes to the prescribed burning
regulations. The ARB is currently developing revisions to the regulation
governing agricultural burning in California. Agricultural burning
refers to the intentional use of fire for vegetation management, for use
in agricultural fields, orchards and wildlands, which include rangeland
and forests.
The ARB is conducting these regional workshops due to the planned increase in prescribed burning and to minimize the public health and nuisance impacts of smoke from prescribed fire.
