Environmental Justice (EJ) Workshop on Climate Change in Pacoima
PACOIMA -- The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold a community workshop to discuss environmental
justice issues in regard to climate change emissions from motor vehicles:
Tuesday, July 13
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Mary Immaculate Catholic Church
10390 Remick Avenue
Pacoima, California
Opening remarks will be given by Assemblmemeber Montanez, followed by a presentation by ARB staff and an open discussion period.
By 2005, the ARB is required by legislation (AB1493, Pavley, 2002) to adopt motor vehicle emission standards for global climate change emissions. ARB staff is seeking comments on the proposed regulation, scheduled to be heard by the Board in September.
Participants are also encouraged to remain following the workshop for a presentation by Redefining Progress, a non-profit organization researching the impacts of climate change on California’s communities.
