ARB Releases Draft State Implementation Plan
SACRAMENTO - A draft plan prepared by the California Air Resources Board staff outlining possible measures needed to meet federal air quality goals in California was released today.
"Our staff has worked hard to develop a proposed plan that incorporates the considerable efforts of local air quality districts, the results of public workshops on proposed state measures and also recognizes the federal government's obligation to help clean California's air," said James D. Boyd, ARB executive officer.
"The resulting draft plan was released today to provide 30 days of public comment and focused study by Board members. We believe the draft plan shows attainment of federal air quality standards and we look forward to receiving and reviewing the public's comments," he added.
Written public comments prior to the Board's formal consideration of the staff's draft plan at its November 9 and 10 public hearing should be submitted to:
