Equal Employment Opportunity Program
Discrimination
It is the policy of the Air Resources Board (ARB) to provide all applicants, employees, and service recipients with a uniform method for expressing complaints of discrimination. The complaints will receive prompt and impartial consideration to bring about a satisfactory resolution for everyone. It is also the policy that every effort will be made to resolve discrimination complaints informally. Any act of reprisal/retaliation against someone for filing a discrimination complaint is prohibited and will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.Discrimination complaints must be on the basis of age, race, sex, color, religion, national origin, political affiliation, ancestry, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, and sexual harassment. The ARB has added more specific policies relating to creating a discrimination-free work environment. These policies are: Sexual Harassment, Sexual Orientation, Sex Discrimination in Language, and Age Discrimination. These policies are located in the Equal Employment Opportunity Program Plan.
Note: Discrimination based upon disabilities is discussed in the Persons with Disabilities Program.
