Transportation Conformity Requirements

| Under the Clean Air Act, federally supported transportation activities must be consistent with the State Implementation Plan (SIP). The process for assessing this consistency is known as transportation conformity. Conformity usually involves a comparison of estimated emissions from on-road motor vehicles with emissions "budgets" set forth in the SIP. |
