101 PURPOSE:
To reduce air pollution from non-agricultural open outdoor fires.
110 EXEMPTIONS:

201 FLUE:
Any duct or passage for air, gases, or the like, such as a stack or chimney.
202 OPEN OUTDOOR FIRE:
Any combustion of material of any type outdoors in the open, where the products of combustion are not directed
through a flue.
203 ORGANIC WASTE:
Residential yard clippings including, but not limited to grass clippings, tree or shrub clippings, wood, plant
bedding materials, and wooden construction materials.
204 REFUSE:
Household rubbish, garbage, food stuffs, paper, plastic, cardboard, and similar waste materials.
300 STANDARDS
301 PROHIBITION OF BURNING CERTAIN MATERIALS:
The burning of petroleum waste, demolition waste, tires, tar, trees, wood waste, or other combustible or flammable
solid or liquid waste, motor vehicle bodies, materials for the purpose of metal salvage, putrescible waste, bedding,
asphaltic products or rubber products shall not be allowed at any time.
302 NO-BURN DAY PROHIBITION:
A person shall not burn, allow to be burned, or maintain any open outdoor fire for the purpose of burning refuse
or organic waste on an agricultural no-burn day. For the purposes of this Section, an agricultural no-burn day
will be as designated by the California Air Resource Board, the County Agriculture Commissioner, or the District
and notification of each agricultural no-burn day designation will occur through County Fire Department dispatch.
303 PROHIBITION OF OPEN BURNING:
A person shall not burn, allow to be burned, or maintain any open outdoor fire for the purpose of burning refuse
or organic waste at any time:
303.1 north of the line delineated at the western edge of Sacramento County at Stonecrest Ave., east along Stonecrest
Ave., to Interstate 5, south to Elk Grove Blvd., east to Waterman, north to Calvine Road, east to the eastern boundary
of the County.
303.2 Within the incorporated cities of:
303.3 Within the unincorporated communities of:
a. Locke,
b. Courtland,
c. Walnut Grove,
d. Hood,
e. Herald.
303.4 The open burn prohibition mandated in this section shall apply to all household refuse and organic waste
which is generated within the areas stated in Section 303.1, 303.2, and 303.3.
