HOW TO COUNT ENGINES IN FLEET AVERAGING |
|
| Engine replaced with grid power for 200 or more hours | PM emission factor for engine reduced by percent of time grid power used |
| Engine using alternative fuel operated 100 or more hours per year | Use PM emission factor of zero |
| Engine using alternative fuel operated 100 hours or more per year added to fleet prior to 1/1/09 | Use PM emission factor of zero and enter engine twice |
| Engine with SCR system | Use PM emission factor from test results |
| Engine equipped with SCR system by 1/1/2004 or, if approved by ARB, after 1/1/2004 | Exempt from fleet standards but may be used in fleet calculations. Once used in fleet calculations, must remain in fleet. |
| Tier 4 engine in fleet prior to 1/1/15 | Use tier 4 PM emission factor (from CARB Executive Order) and count engine twice in 2013 and 2017 calculations |
| Engine using fuel additive verified by ARB with emission reduction factor approved by ARB | Use approved PM emission factor |
|
